Campbell Middle School is honored to nominate Malia Naeole-Takasato as our Teacher of the Year.

Malia is an exceptional instructional leader.  She has attended multiple Soluciones Conferences to learn strategies that engage and empower students as we work together to close the achievement gap.  Not only has she created a learning rich environment for her own students, but she has also been instrumental in helping colleagues implement best practices and research-based strategies in their classrooms.

Malia is a valued member of our site leadership teams.  She is an active participant in the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process, attending ILT meetings and helping to identify school-wide literacy standards upon which all grade levels and departments may focus.

As point person of our 8th grade Exhibition, Malia has worked with her grade-level team to re-vamp the process.   They have made it a community effort as science and social studies teachers work in tandem with the ELA teachers so, that our students have a rich experience of research, creating, writing, and presenting.

Malia is student centered, passionate about education, and considerate of each child’s needs.  She is a true teacher leader.  Congratulations Malia!
